Dream 2 - The Forest:
Anger & Bargaining

This level thrusts Vee into a place that's darker, colder, and more hostile. A once magical forest reminiscent of childhood play and imagination now pulses with twisted echoes of comfort turned against her.
Here, grief begins to take shape. The warm denial of Happy Town is gone, replaced by something that fights back. Something that hurts.
This forest is gnarled and labyrinthine. Vines choke the trees. Roots burst through the ground like veins. The moonlight filters in, sharp and cold, cutting through thick green fog that hangs like breath. There’s movement in the trees but it’s never quite clear what’s watching.
The forest reflects Vee’s emotional shift from passive avoidance to volatile reaction. She’s angry. Angry at the loss, angry at the helplessness, and desperate to fix what’s broken. That duality plays out in the environment: part fury, part negotiation.
The toys we see in Vees room have returned. But they are not the same. Each toy has a “pure” version from her childhood memories and a “corrupted” version now haunting the woods. These corrupted versions don’t just frighten they accuse. They echo her thoughts and feelings back at her, twisted through the lens of rage and guilt.
